President of the Kuwait Heart Association

The General Assembly of the Kuwait Heart Association, at its annual meeting, which was held last Wednesday, elected the members of the new board of directors, headed by: Talal Jassim Al-Bahr, Dr. Muhammad Al-Jarallah as his deputy, and Dr. Rashid Al-Aweesh as Secretary-General, and Ahmed Al-Humaidhi as Treasurer, and the membership of: Dr. Abdul Latif Al-Bader, Dr. Farida Al-Awadi, Dr. Muhammad Zubaid, and Dr. Jamal Al-Fadhli. Al-Bahr thanked Faisal Al-Mutawa and members of the previous board of directors for their dedication during their term of membership and their efforts in highlighting the association’s role in educating the community about heart diseases, through awareness-raising activities and initiatives undertaken in previous years. He also urged members of the new board to follow in the footsteps of the previous board. Creative ideas and new initiatives to develop the work and activities of the association.

He stated that the association, which was founded in August 1982, aims to raise awareness of heart diseases and their prevention. The association has a mobile unit to conduct medical examinations for early detection of high blood pressure, cholesterol, sugar, and weight gain factors. It distributes educational brochures and brochures, supports research and conferences, and sponsors researchers to conduct studies and research on heart diseases, risk factors and prevention. The association also communicates with the World Heart Federation, associations, and related organizations.
